Hack Duke

Launched in Fall 2013, HackDuke is the largest student hackathon in the Southeast. HackDuke draws students from across the nation and focuses on solving real-life challenges by “coding for good.” The HackDuke student organization also produces a number of educational seminars and workshops available to all students at Duke.

Foodpedia (Novice track)

A platform to help those recovering from eating disorders.

Kindling (Inequality track)

A platform to discuss news articles with people of differing opinions in hope of building empathy.

Eyezheimer (Health and wellness track)

A web application that is meant for easy diagnosis of Alzheimer’s disease.

Paizza (Education track)

A platform that can be integrated into learning platform Piazza to identify duplicate questions.

Watt (Energy and environment track)

A consumer guide to help potential appliance buyers make energy-smart decisions.
